Great Plains Interagency Dispatch Center (GPC) recently changed their weekly reset process.
Historically, every Thursday between 0800 and 1200, the availability status for personnel
and equipment would reset to available local. Going forward, equipment will be reset to
unavailable local, and personnel will be available local. Every Thursday, after the weekly reset,
you will need to re-status equipment as available local to be requested by GPC for fire response.

Volunteer Fire Department Assistance
The Volunteer Fire Department Assistance segment of South Dakota Wildland Fire (SDWF) assists the rural fire departments of South Dakota in obtaining equipment, supplies, and grant funding needed to provide protection for their communities. This is done through programs provided by agreements with the US Forest Service and the Defense Logistics Agency.
Ordering Fire Equipment and Supplies
Through agreements with the US Forest Service and the Defense Logistics Agency, SDWF is able to purchase fire supplies and equipment off federal contracts for the fire departments throughout South Dakota. This affords the fire departments the opportunity to purchase needed items at a substantial savings.

Fire Reporting

Effective May 1, 2023, paper and electronic post cards are discontinued. The website above or use of third-party reporting software are the only accepted forms of reporting.
