The National Crime Information Center (NCIC) is a valuable tool for South Dakota law enforcement officials, housing crime data that can be accessed by nearly every criminal justice agency nationwide.

Data shared by the NCIC can help locate missing persons, recovery property, identify terrorists and apprehend fugitives, along with providing public safety information. The NCIC averages more than 12 million transactions per day and helps facilitate investigations and criminal justice efforts throughout South Dakota.
