All SD certificates expire on July 1. Applications can be submitted as early as January 1st of the year of expiration.

• You need to continue to be patient and check your "view status" of your open application. If no change has been made in 20 business days (one month), then comment for a status check. 
• On July 1, your certificate will become expired. If renewal requirements are not complete by October 1 of the year of expiration, it will then become invalid.
  • ARSD 24:28:17:01.  Renewal cycle. The educator certificate is valid from the date of issuance until June 30 of the year of expiration.  A valid certificate may be renewed from January 1 to June 30 of the year of expiration.  The certificate is invalid if renewal requirements are not complete by October 1 of the year of expiration.
