Wellness Wisdom: Activities for Building Happy, Healthy Families
March is National Nutrition Month®! When discussing nutrition, we often focus on the ideal of well-balanced, homemade meals. However, nutrition encompasses everything we eat. Let's explore how to make healthier choices when dining out.
- Choosing water instead of a pop or other sweetened drink is an easy way to stay hydrated while avoiding unwanted calories and added sugar
- Opt for a side-salad or side of roasted vegetables instead of the French fries. Eating the veggies first can help fill your tummy!
- Pay attention to your body's signals for hunger and fullness. Many of us were raised to always finish what's on our plate, but this can lead to overeating. Instead, save the leftovers for another time!
