SD WIC Launches New Website

Article Body

The South Dakota Department of Health Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program is excited to reveal its new website!

When you visit the homepage, you'll notice a helpful search bar to make finding information easy. You can also quickly locate a store or office using the convenient links. The homepage highlights the four main pillars of our program - Talk Nutrition, Breastfeeding Support, Care Beyond WIC, and Healthy Food. Each pillar has links to more information. If you're curious about what others think of the program, scroll to the bottom to read real participants' reviews.

To learn more about joining the program, click on the 'Join Now' option in the top menu. There, you'll find details about eligibility, what to expect at your first appointment, and an easy way to request an appointment. Check out the 'Shopping' menu for everything you need to know about getting WIC foods, including information on a handy WIC app for assistance while you're in the store.

WIC doesn't just offer in-person support; they also provide a wealth of information in easy-to-read articles under 'Health & Nutrition'. Whether you're on the program or not, you can find topics like breastfeeding positioning and feeding toddlers.

If you're a healthcare provider or part of another community resource, visit the 'Partner' pages to explore potential collaborations. Plus, our website can be translated into over 100 languages to ensure accessibility.

Feel free to explore the site and discover something new!
