What Do I Do With My… Peanut Butter?

Have you ever wondered how to use all of the beans or cereal you get with WIC? What about all those fruit and veggie dollars? Sometimes we get in a rut of eating the same fruits like bananas and apples, but there are so many more options available! Let’s look at how to better utilize PEANUT BUTTER!

Peanut Butter

When we think of peanut butter, we usually think of a PB and J sandwich, but there are so many more ways to enjoy this delicious spread!

PB Tips:

  • Peanut butter has lots of great nutrients including protein, healthy fats, vitamin E, iron, folate, and more!
  • Most brands of peanut butter can be stored at room temperature but check the package to be sure.
  • If you see oil separating out in the jar, simply use a kitchen knife or spoon to slowly mix it back in.

Caution!

  • Peanut butter is one of the top 8 allergen foods, be sure to only serve peanut butter to those without an allergy.
  • Children under 4 are at a higher risk of choking when eating certain foods, peanut butter is one of those foods! Be sure to serve it in an age-appropriate way.
